A (mathematical) Tonal Gravity Demonstration

Post by bobappleton »

Isaac del Pozo has submitted this short 3-page excerpt – translated into English – from his recent 54 page thesis "Formulación matemática del concepto de gravedad tonal de George Russell" (A Mathematical Formulation of George Russell's Concept of Tonal Gravity) from his University "Musikene, Centro Superior de Música del País Vasco" in San Sebastian, Spain. It's attached here as 3 jpeg files for everyone to download, read, analyse, critique and enjoy.

I've spent a lot of time with Isaac on Skype discussing his work (which I find very interesting) and its application to my own work. He speaks English well (blames that on an old girlfriend), has a great sense of humor, and is a very good improvisor and composer. His help with my vorTEX software allows the LCC to be experienced as part of my (now sponsored) research into a theory of language analyzed in Hz by its sounds, as well as the fun stuff – my Visual Music performance.

Check it out.

Bob

It is two different things I beleive.
Haven't seen Isaac's work,
but regarding Jeff Brent's web page - don't worry,
it's completely insignificant stuff.
