In this interview http://www.robertappleton.com/gr_interview1960.pdf posted by bobappleton in another thread, Russell says something to the effect that it doesn't matter ( to the music itself and to the listener) whether the musician is relating to the music horizontally or vertically. It only matt...

The way I consider it would be as follows. I think that classical music in Lydian terms would be following the state of resolution from the VI to the V and eventually ending on the III as a minor tonic. I would also agree that the +V and/or bIII would be a passing tone. I consider the Lydian VI and ...

Bought my copy for $18.50 in '58. I remember hiding it because I knew my parents would question where all that money came from. Wow. I really cannot imagine how that would have been. All I have are material comparisons from my generation... Like a vidja' game console! - Since I am a youngn' and all...

Revison on previous posts.
Intro-- I remember seeing a post about thirdless sound, which I experimented with before being introduced to the concept. I truly believe this aspect is a must-have in modern music. Tertian harmony is just a bit too vague for consonance to be truly manipulated. Which leads me to make this statement-...

Kinda odd?
I finally have a question that is topic worthy. Alright, I have been thinking lately of the dominant seventh II versus the major seventh II or I in consonance to dissonance. If you are thinking of the concept terms on the TG chart, or relating to the most outgoing step, the dominant seventh is more ...
